Tomato Cilantro

Savory elements of tomato and herb give way to refreshing flavors.

  • 1 medium tomato | sliced
  • Few sprigs of cilantro
  • Fermented kombucha


  • 32 oz. glass mason jar 
  • Funnel
  • Mesh strainer


  1. Place funnel on top of jar opening.
  2. Place mesh strainer on top of funnel.
  3. Pour fermented kombucha into the jar. Leave 2 in. headspace.
  4. Slice 1 medium tomato into ¼ in. width. Add slices to jar. 
  5. Remove cilantro leaves from 3-4 sprigs. Add leaves to jar. 
  6. Gently stir brew.
  7. Close lid and allow the kombucha to ferment for 1-4 days.
  8. Store jar in a cool place.
  9. After 1-4 days, remove tomato and cilantro and place finished jar in refrigerator to slow second fermentation. 
  10. Enjoy!
